Extraordinary

As a child one of my favorite parts of British TV quizzes was when they showed and everyday object from an odd angle and asked you to guess what it was. I rarely seemed to get them right but the challenge of looking at the world from apparently the wrong angle fascinated me.

The picture above is a lamp - a piece of a lamp made a little unusual.

As I grow older I realize that stepping back and finding a new angle is so often important in life - but, generally, we find that harder as we begin to think we control the world around us by our own experience. So people become more annoying, situations more diffiult to navigate and our opinions more stubborn.

What is this? A good question when we find our internal temperature rising. What is this from over there? Sometimes very similar, sometimes vastly different but by changing our vantage point and expectations we come a little closer to the all-encompassing love of Christ.
