Faith

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Heb 11.1)

When I imagined myself, for a moment, having to come up with faith it felt like scrambling up a shale bank - my feet slipping as fast as I ran. But when I think about faith as a gift of God it is a whole different story. God offers assurance in the places where we are confused and conviction of God's self in the gaps of life. This is not an intellectual exercise on our part but an acceptance of an invitation - and invitation to participate in God's generous offering of life and belief.
