butterflies and loving it

If I told you the name of the lady whose funeral I did today, almost none of you would know it. If you live in Wokingham though, you may know her house, it is the one with the butterflies.
In a rather unassuming row of grey/brown council houses stands one with a dozen or so very large outdoor ornamental butterflies attached to the front. They are there because she loved them and they have brought and will bring many, many people pleasure as they walk down her street.
Like I say, they are there because she loved them. too often in life we think we cannot do anything because everything seems so big and impossible. But that is the strange thing, when God calls us to something it is out of love and in love - God asks us to take the things we love and turn them over to service.
Many of those things might seem small and insignificant - but often they can be beautiful. Over the years hundreds and probably thousands of people have smiled at the bright wings and pretty patterns of something someone loves in an ordinary place. In our ordinary places what patterns and dances in the air will we make?
