Who we really are

I was looking through some photo albums and I realized I had never seen the lighted smile in the pictures actually on my mother - this is a sad thing. It made me think hard about the legacy we leave our children and the world - what it is and how important it is. What are we sharing of importance and what are we running after of little worth?

God gives us the ability to smile and the ability to frown - which is leaving its imprint on the world? Our faith is one of joy - but supress it, ignore it, hide it away and you get sludgy frowns. Growing in faith is about joy - not stupid grinning - but something deeper. I hope my children will see a mother who has that joy in her heart - I hope that joy of companionship with Christ is at the forefront of my being.
