New wine

New wine into new wine skins. That means that sometimes we have to change to take the life that God is offering. It means that the same old patterns had habits are just going to leave grace spilled all over the floor and not soaked into our souls.

But it is possible, transformation is something which can be daily and ongoing for us. It is something to which we are called - to become new.

It is a wonderful thought that is becomes easier to accept and understand this sort of newness and to develop the sort of elasticity which God wants as we become older - as we let go of some of the hothouse pressure which we have been holding onto. Of course, if the pressure just turns into anger and disappointment as dreams lie unfulfilled then we become the opposite, rigid and inflexible.

That is an old wine skin, holding on to the things we had dreamed for ourselves. Where is the wine pouring? Is God allowed to soften our tough old selves to newness and receptivity?
